Writer's Workshop--Tips, Techniques, and Inspiration
presented by Linda Lowen
Maybe you're knee deep into NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) or maybe you've always wanted to write and need that nudge. Local writer Linda Lowen will lead a 90-minute workshop--a grab bag of approaches and suggestions to encourage your writing life and keep you inspired. Learn the foolproof process that can turn anyone into a writer, find out what makes a story, novel, or memoir flow or fumble, and try an in-class exercise to access your subconscious for character and story ideas. Bring tools for writing: pen and paper, or a laptop if you prefer.

Free. Registration preferred as space is limited.

Linda Lowen is a freelance writer/editor and writing instructor whose advice on the craft of writing has been published in Writer's Digest and The Writer magazines. Her short nonfiction has appeared in The New York Times Sunday Styles section under the Tiny Love/Modern Love column (June 2019). She is a book reviewer for Publisher's Weekly and is a theater reviewer for the Syracuse Post-Standard. Ms. Lowen teaches writing at The Downtown Writer's Center, Oasis Lifelong Learning, and has presented writing workshops across the Northeast. She's the founder of AlwaysWantedToWrite.com, a writing studio based in Syracuse offering workshops and individual coaching, and StruckByWriting.com which offers seaside writing retreats and residencies from one week to one month during the off season in the Outer Banks of North Carolina and Myrtle Beach (February 2020).
