Starting Seeds Indoors--Who, What, When, and How
Presented by Todd Marsh
Free. Registration preferred, as space is limited.
The Starting Seeds Indoors presentation will show participants several creative and economical ways to start their garden seeds indoors. Many methods (some old, some new) will be shown and the pros and cons of each will be discussed.

The first part of the presentation will focus on the fundamentals of a good seed-starting set-up. Fundamentals include soil and container choices, watering techniques, appropriate lighting, and seed buying recommendations.

The second part of the presentation will concentrate on which plants should or shouldn’t be started indoors and when is the right time to start your seeds.

Participants will be given access to a Seed Planting Schedule Calculator that will provide the ideal time to start specific garden seeds indoors. The scheduler uses the estimated last frost date of where you live to calculate the ideal date you should start your seeds.

The ultimate purpose of the presentation is why starting your own seeds is worth your time and effort.

The talk will be discussion based and participants will be invited to share their own experiences and ask specific questions related to their seed starting area.
